Oral Conscious Sedation
Visiting the dentist can cause fear and anxiety in many people. Patients who experience dental phobia may postpone or avoid vital dental appointments, which can negatively impact oral health. This can lead to tooth loss, disease and overall health problems. However, you can overcome dental fear with oral conscious sedation.
An oral sedative is a pill we will prescribe for you to take, usually an hour before your appointment. Although you are awake during your procedure, you may become drowsy and most patients remember very little to nothing at all of the appointment after it’s happened. You will need to have someone drive you to and from our office, so please plan for transportation in advance.
